It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marissa Gracie Riche, left us on April 4, 2025, just a day after her birth on April 3, 2025. Despite her brief time with us, Marissa made a profound impact on those who had the opportunity to know her and will be remembered for her promising future.

Marissa’s academic journey was marked by exceptional achievement; she earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, receiving the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Marissa was determined to emulate the success she witnessed in her family, and her accomplishments are a testament to her drive and intelligence.

Her dedication extended beyond academics; she proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years, where she rose to the rank of Colonel. Marissa's military service was characterized by an unwavering commitment to her country and a valor that was recognized through the prestigious Bronze Star and Purple Heart, awarded for her bravery in combat during the Gulf War.

Marissa cherished time spent with family, particularly during the holidays. She brought joy to Thanksgiving gatherings by making her famous apple pie, a sweet tradition that helped create lasting memories with her loved ones. She had a unique talent for collecting rare books, investing hours in scouring bookstores and auctions to find distinctive additions to her collection.

Marissa is survived by her beloved sister, Sarah Johnson, her brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, and her close friend, Rachel Lee. She is preceded in death by her mother, Susan Smith, her father, John Smith Sr., and her brother, James Smith. Each family member and friend will forever hold cherished memories of Marissa—the life she led, the love she shared, and the legacy she leaves behind.

As we remember Marissa Gracie Riche, we celebrate a life that, though short, leaves a lasting impression on the hearts of many.
