Rising to the rank of Colonel, she exemplified bravery and resilience, earning both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for her courageous actions in combat during the Gulf War. Her service not only reflected her strong character but also her profound love for her country.
Marissa cherished her time with family, creating beautiful memories that will forever resonate. She had a special tradition of making her famous apple pie each Thanksgiving, a delicious treat that brought everyone together. The warmth of those holiday gatherings will be deeply missed by her family.
Outside of her commendable achievements and family bonds, Marissa found joy in collecting rare books. She enjoyed spending countless hours exploring bookstores and auctions, always on the lookout for unique additions to her collection. This passion for literature enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Marissa leaves behind her beloved sister, Sarah Johnson, and brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, who will carry forward her memory alongside close friend Rachel Lee.
