An accomplished scholar, Marissa earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration from XYZ University, where she was recognized with the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in 2010. Her commitment to education and excellence was evident in all her endeavors.

Her dedication extended beyond academics; Marissa proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years. Attaining the rank of Colonel, she exemplified bravery and valor in her service, receiving both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for her courageous actions during the Gulf War.

Beyond her professional and military achievements, Marissa found joy in collecting rare books, spending countless hours exploring bookstores and auctions to find unique additions to her cherished collection. Marissa is survived by her beloved sister, Sarah Johnson, her brother-in-law, Tom Johnson, and close friend, Rachel Lee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Smith, her father, John Smith Sr., and her brother, James Smith.
