Carol Ruth Hadduck, 96, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at The Cedars, McPherson.

Carol Ruth was born on December 30, 1928, the daughter of Wilbur Headlee and Carol Ione (Hughes) King. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Alvah and Blanche Hughes, following the death of her mother. Carol graduated from West Denver High School. Later, in 1980, she received her B.A. in music from McPherson College.

On May 7, 1949, Carol was united in marriage to Ronald Bruce Hadduck in Denver, CO. This union was blessed with five children, Barbara, Rhonda, Patty, Kevin, and Carolyn.

She was a music teacher at Colorado Springs Bible College, Central College, and McPherson College, while always giving private piano lessons on the side.

Carol was a member of McPherson Free Methodist Church, National Guild of Piano Teachers, and Christian Women’s Club.

Carol wanted to be remembered for her love of family, friends, and students. She loved music and especially enjoyed playing piano. Carol prayed that the music she played would bless and make others happy. She deeply loved her husband, Ron, and loved and worshiped her Savior, Jesus Christ. The forgiveness and love her Heavenly Father offered gave her comfort and peace.

Survivors include three children, Barbara (Don) Bland of McPherson, KS, Kevin (Linda) Hadduck of Clay Center, KS, and Carolyn (Stuart) Holmes of Newton, KS; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members, friends, and students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Carol King; step-mother, Esther (Overholt) King; grandparents, Alvah and Blanche (Kerby) Hughes; husband, Ronald Hadduck; daughters, Rhonda Munce-Trotter and Patty Shorb; and half-brother, Philip King and his wife, Martha.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 7, at Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge.
