RYAN MICHAEL KELLY
1976 - 2021
Our family and the world lost an incredible, intelligent, talented and loving soul on December 17, 2021. On this day, Ryan Michael Kelly lost his quiet battle and struggle with mental health and symptoms of CTE. Ryan was born on September 16, 1976, to Wayne and Carolyn Kelly in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He had a wonderful and full childhood with his siblings: Jeff, Melissa, and
Jennifer. Ryan grew up in Taylorsville, Utah where he built many wonderful childhood memories playing street hockey, ice hockey and spending time with his family. He also spent a lot of these years with grandparents and cousins. They loved swimming at Grandma Grass’s condo, camping, and supporting each other in sports. Many of these memories were built around his dad coaching him while playing ice hockey and traveling on many travel teams. His family loved the mountains, great outdoors, and making new memories.
During his later teenage years Ryan met the love of his life, Lisa. Lisa and Ryan were married on September 7, 1999. Soon after their first daughter Karlie Ann was born. After that Katelynn Marie and Morgan Jean were born and joined their family. Ryan and Lisa moved from West Jordan, Utah to Grantsville, Utah where their family made and enjoyed the many memories that they had built there. Later on, Ryan, Lisa and the girls moved to Layton, Utah.
While living in Grantsville and Layton, Ryan had spent his life devoting many hours to his career of nursing. He enjoyed his patients and working at the many facilities he did. He made countless friends and touched many lives during his years in nursing. He loved gaining medical knowledge to help his patients and his family. Ryan was wound care certified and worked towards healing sores nobody else knew how to do. He was our go to for anything medical as he was always gaining and improving his medical knowledge. He was so intelligent and wise beyond his years.
Ryan was so smart and loved reading books and debating. He loved having deep, thoughtful
conversations with his family and friends. Ryan was also an avid swimmer, runner, biker, and
loved the outdoors. He participated in and successfully completed many races, marathons,
Ragnars, and half Iron Mans. He loved physical activity and enjoyed working out with his wife
and daughters. He loved taking them on new adventures and showing them so many lovely
things in nature. Ryan enjoyed reading and listening to music. He loved coaching, supporting,
and celebrating the activities his daughters participated in. They truly were his pride and joy.
Ryan and Lisa had built a beautiful life and nothing made Ryan prouder than seeing his
daughters work towards their goals and dreams.
Ryan left behind so many who will feel his absence in this life. He left behind his parents, Wayne and Carolyn Kelly; his wife, Lisa Kelly; along with his beautiful and amazing daughters: Karlie, Katie, and Morgan. He also leaves behind his siblings: Jeff (Elizabeth), Melissa (Anthony), Jenny (Rick); his mother-in-law, Kathy; sister-in-law, Jessica; and brother-in-law, Craig. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Justin, Christian, Caden, Colin, Brooklyn and Roman. He leaves behind so many beautiful memories. None of us were ready to say goodbye.
Services will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Please come as you are. Ryan would want
nothing less. Services will begin at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm. Services will
be at Lindquist Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah. Ryan will be cremated due to his wishes.
