David "Dave" Smith, a cherished husband, father, and friend, left this world on January 1, 2019, at the age of 70. Born in Ogden on January 1, 1949, he graced the lives of many with his warmth and undeniable charisma. Known for his welcoming and goofy personality, Dave had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel valued and important, regardless of the circumstances.
For 35 years, Dave dedicated himself as a printing advisor for Grey Corporation, where he oversaw numerous large print projects that showcased his commitment to excellence and creativity. His career was a testament to his hard work and passion for the craft, and it allowed him to leave a significant mark within the community.
In addition to his impressive career, Dave served honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years. His dedication to his country reflected his strong values and sense of duty, shaping not only the man he became but also the lasting impact he had on those around him.
Dave's love for the outdoors was as boundless as his spirit. Whether it was camping with family or simply enjoying nature at its finest, anytime he could be outside was a cherished moment. His enthusiasm for life's simple pleasures inspired countless others to embrace the beauty of the world around them.
Left to carry forward his legacy are his beloved wife, Jane Smith; his son, Gene Smith; and his daughter, Anna Smith. Each of them holds a piece of his heart and a treasure trove of memories that will forever bind them to him.
David is also survived by the memories of his loving mother, Susan Smith; father, John Smith; and brother, James Smith, who predeceased him. The bond they shared transcends time, and their legacy lives on through the warmth of Dave’s own family.
A celebration of life honoring David's life will be held at Sonzini Mortuary in Ogden, UT, on January 10, 2019, from 8:15 AM to 10:15 AM. In this time of reflection, all who knew and loved Dave are invited to celebrate his extraordinary life and the joy he brought to so many.
Dave Smith was more than just a friend or a family member; he was a beacon of light whose laughter and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
